Sun Spring Mandala Vest!
So! I tried this over a year ago and had to frog the entire thing because it came out way, way too big, but I tried it again with a smaller hook, and smaller yarn, and it came out well. I made some slight variations to make this one more child sized, but I liked it with the changes so much I’m halfway through another one.
Yarn, Lion brand Mandala in Mermaid Cove.
I forgot I made this
This was a pattern from Annoo crochet, a festival top I had wanted to make for myself. Buuuuuut the band came out way too big for me to wear. I’ll have to do it again smaller. I also left off the fringe.
Sun Spring Mandala
I tried creating one of these a year or so ago and ended up frogging the entire thing. Following the pattern exactly, and this is why I think the patterns are free, ended up with a project way, WAY too big. Like it was dragging on the ground and I still had many rounds to go on it.
I am doing it again with some changes. Lion Brand Mandala yarn, 3.75 hook. No extra V stitch rows, no extra sleeve DC rows. Variation on the inner order because I hate doing those shell stitches. And, I may put actual sleeves on it.

I bought two hoops a while back but I finally got around to putting the sun spring mandala pattern into one of them. I think it came out well. I had to cut some yarn to make the lines a little cleaner though. Having the star one color looks good I think, esp if the colorway doesn’t work out that way. In my shop now!
