Mandala Yarn

I bought 2 skeins of Lion Brand Mandala  yarn for the latest mandala I’m making from this pattern, called a Crochet Gypsy Vest.

So far I absolutely love this yarn!  It’s a 3, feels just like a 3 all the way through, has lovely color change and feels nice and soft

This will be for my mom on her cruise.

It’s not that hard

I like looking up patterns on youtube and if I like it, giving myself written steps.  It’s just kind of amazing how many people can’t put simple things together though.

“How do I make this smaller?” Well unless it’s significantly smaller like adult to toddler, use a smaller hook and or thinner yarn.

“I can’t find that exact yarn you used where I live”.  Holy shit just find out the size and type and find something similar.  A specific fingering gradient yarn? Look for ANOTHER fingering gradient yarn!

“How do I make it longer (blanket)”  More rounds or a longer initial chain.  Math is hard.

I seriously wrote “math is hard” on a pattern I wrote for myself though. I wanted a smaller neckline on the virus ponchos I’ve been making but I don’t know if I want to be bothered figuring out what initial chain I would need.

Ponchos

Wellp my current obsession is ponchos in my favorite virus pattern.  I had to retake some pictures since I had lined up the neck wrong on my cloth model.  I finished one with that damn Red Heart Unforgettable yarn, it’s so pretty but I know it’s going to be delicate as hell to deal with.

Ponchos and Capelets

I started to make a poncho using one of my Caron Big Cakes but I thought it was cuter as a capelet so I stopped a bit short.  Then I also decided to do the same thing in that god damn Unforgettable yarn that makes my arms ache trying not to rip it and make tiny little stitches.  I said it before but I’ll say it again, it’s lace weight, it’s nowhere near a 4. But I’m going to use this dumb yarn if it kills me.
